Project Brief
We have had an application custom written for us in Visual Basic to manage our staff education program throughout the organisation. The application is extremely cumbersome to use and is lacking features we are used to in other Windows applications. The application requires an inordinate amount of time to book each staff member on the course, especially with the database on our network drive.

IRIE solution
Complete redesign of the application from the ground up to provide ergonomic data entry features. Windows drag and drop technology was used extensively throughout the application to provide visual representations of the tasks involved. An extensive reporting facility was built allowing easy addition of new reports as required also incorporating drag and drop filter selection capabilities.

Optimisation of the database usage dramatically improved the performance of the system across the network. Further performance improvements were gained by selectively masking infrequently referenced data reducing overall network traffic
